SUMMER DISCIPLESHIP

Book Study: "Your God is Too Safe"- Thursdays from 6:30-7:30pm in the Parlor

June 6, 13, 20, 27, & July 11, 18, 25

“I tried and it don’t work… it ain’t for me… I ain’t used to it.” So says Tom Sawyer about the church life the Widow Douglas presses him into, and so we all might say when our commitment to God gets uncomfortable, risky, or just too inconvenient. We keep our distance and live in a half-hearted Christianity and make God into the image of what we want him to be according to pastor and author, Mark Buchanan.

This summer come and energize this image with Buchanan’s book, Your God is Too Safe. We will discuss how we can shake this watered down spirituality, move from the borderlands of mediocrity, and develop holy habits to realize the wonder, beauty, and adventure with a God who is not staid and predictable but very, very good.

We understand Summer can be a busy time so you can come and go as needed, but we hope you will be with us for all the sessions.
