As Mount Pleasant continues to experience very rapid growth, and especially out Highway 17 North and US 41, so have the numbers of singles, couples and families who have chosen Christ Church as their church home. As a result, a large percentage of our growth are families with children ranging from pre-kindergarten to college-bound teenagers. In addition and due to an excellent staff, our school and Sunday School programs have attracted young people from other churches and ones who were not attending any church. In answer to God's call to provide expanded opportunities for adults and especially younger members where they can continue to grow in His love and footsteps, Christ Church has started Phase II of its campus.

With God's help, Christ Church has started Phase II of its campus. The first phase, which was the construction of the new sanctuary, which was started in (September 1996), completed (September 1998) and the paid-off mortgage was burned February 23, 2003. Planning for Phase II started (Month 2000) that would add two new buildings, the extension of the Narthex, new entry drive, central courtyard, additional paved parking and renovations to the old, small Historic Church. The estimated completion date for this second phase is mid September 2003.

Extension The new sanctuary is at the left and shows the addition to extend the narthex in the tan color. This extension, with two additional doors, will provide more room before and after services and functions in the main sanctuary and faster entry and exiting especially during inclement weather.
