Upcoming MOCC Events
March 4 | 6:30pm | Parish Hall Come and learn the history of the Buffalo Soldiers, how the Buffalo Soldiers Motorcycle Club supports our communities, and how we might be able to take part in their efforts.
"Buffalo Soldiers" is a nickname for African American soldiers that began with the Cheyenne warriors in 1867. The nickname was given to African American soldiers of the 10th Calvary for their fierce fighting ability. The first officially recognized African American Soldiers were slaves and included the 1st Regiments of the South Carolina Volunteers.
The Buffalo Soldiers Motorcycle Club was created to honor and uphold the heroic legend of the original Buffalo Soldiers and the legacy of excellence of African American soldiers who followed. Their mission is to promote cultural awareness, serve the needs of the community and educate our youth. The club was formed in 1999 in Greenville, SC to consolidate educational and charitable efforts and the North Charleston Chapter is one of over 120 chapters throughout the US and overseas.
