Samaria and to the ends of the earth.”
The
Outreach Commission coordinates the sharing of money and volunteer efforts in
the Church family, the local community, the nation and the world. The Outreach
Budget receives proceeds raised through the Tea Room, Oyster Roast, the East
Cooper Concert Series and other general fundraisers. Outreach also receives a
set percentage of the Church Operating Budget. The money is distributed
proportionally with 50% for Christ Church and the local community and 50% for
the nation and the world.
We
presently contribute to East Cooper Community Outreach (ECCO), East Cooper Meals
on Wheels, Windward Farms, The Police Chaplainry Program, Suzie McCall’s work
in Honduras, our sister Church of the Holy Spirit on la Gonave, Haiti, and other
ministry areas. Christ Church has supported a long term outreach effort in Haiti
through financial aid and several missionary trips. The commission meets monthly
and eagerly welcomes new members.

In May, Christ Church spearheaded a medical mission trip to the small island of La Gonave off the mainland. A makeshift clinic was set up in the school at Gros Mangles where for three days nearly 300 people received much needed medical and dental attention. More about the trip...
