Christ Episcopal Church of Mt.Pleasant, South Carolina.

Christ Church has a deep commitment to feeding the bodies and souls of all of our members, especially those members in a time of need or celebrating a special time.  If you are aware of a member in need of special attention, or if you would like to serve in this ministry, please call the church office. If you have a need which is particularly sensitive, you are always encouraged to contact either of the church’s clergy.

Pastoral Care Team

As our Christ Church family has grown, so have our pastoral care needs and concerns. Pastoral Care Teams are each made up of about twenty people. Simple meals are prepared and delivered to families where there is an illness, hospitalization or death in the family. Occasionally, one of our parishioners might need a ride to and from a medical appointment; or someone could be homebound and need errands run or shopping done.

If you are not already an active member of a Pastoral Care Team, we are asking for your help. You need not be a gourmet cook and you can help even if you work outside the home. This is a wonderful ministry that allows us to serve Him by serving His people.

For a number of years, we have had four teams that serve for one month every four months. With four teams, the rotation happens so that one team always has December, April and August - three months when many people are traveling and having house guests. Increasing to five teams would allow all of the groups to share in those extra busy months. Currently, the Pastoral Care Teams are also responsible for funeral receptions or luncheons and we need more people to help in those areas.  Maryln Cordle has agreed to be our Bereavement Coordinator. She will handle the details of organizing funeral receptions, etc.

Stephen Ministry

Stephen Ministry is a program that equips lay persons to provide distinctively Christian one-to-one care to those who are experiencing a crisis or life challenge, both in our parish and our community.

Stephen Ministers are committed Christian people who...

Everyone goes through periods of difficulty or crisis at times. Having someone who cares enough to listen can ease these experiences of confusion, stress, or loneliness.

Prayer

Christ Church believes in the power of prayer. There are two active prayer chains, one through the Daughters of the King and the other made up of members of the parish.
