Alan Runyon, Esq.
Alan is an attorney and he and his wife, Beth, have been members of the Parish Church of St. Helena, Beaufort, since November 2006. Born in Nigeria, West Africa, Alan spent his formative years there as the son of Baptist missionaries. He has served in previous Baptist churches as deacon and deacon chair, choir member, and Bible studies teacher. At St. Helena’s, he has taught Bible studies ranging from a study of Revelation to Science and Faith with former rector, Jeff Miller. He has also spoken at St. Helena’s, at other churches in the Diocese and in the Beaufort community on The Trial and Crucifixion of the Messiah. Alan serves as St. Helena’s Parish Chancellor. He is a past Vestry member and served as Warden. He is a trustee and governor of Holy Trinity Classical Christian School and a board member of Anglican Frontier Missions. He has served on the Trinity School for Ministry Board of Visitors, the Furman University President’s Advisory Council and the Board of Directors of the Conservation Voters of South Carolina. Alan was Chancellor of the Diocese and counsel to the Standing Committee. Alan is presently attending Oxford University where he is engaged in the post graduate study of theology.
