The Rev. Jeff Miller
Jeff has served as the Rector at St. Philip’s Church since 2016. A native Pennsylvanian, Jeff attended Indiana University of Pennsylvania where he received his Bachelor of Arts degree. Following graduation, he felt God calling him to ordained ministry. In 1991, he entered Virginia Theological Seminary and upon graduation was sent to the Diocese of South Carolina. He took a position as curate at Saint James Church, Charleston, S.C., and it was there he met his wife, Kristin. He and Kristin have four children ranging from school-age to adulthood. Jeff later became a member of the clergy staff at The Parish Church of St. Helena for more than 15 years, serving for the last 11 years as Rector, before receiving the call to St. Philip’s. Jeff has a passion for preaching and teaching the Gospel and longs to see others enter into a personal and saving relationship with Jesus Christ. On the side, he is an avid student of American history, particularly the American Civil War, which his wife describes as “an obsession.” However, those who know Jeff realize it’s much more serious than that! Jeff’s favorite Bible passage is Romans 8:28: “And we know that for those who love God all things work together for good, for those who are called according to His purpose.”
