In Matthew 5:14, Jesus tells his disciples that “you are the light of the world,” because he knew (even if they didn’t!) that once Easter morning came, they would have a Gospel to proclaim to the world, a message of healing and hope to the lost, a light that would shine in the darkness. Since that first Easter, Christian people have taken the message of Jesus—the light of the world—into every corner of the Earth by every way imaginable. Leading up to Lent as we welcomed a variety of christian people who shared with us how they see their work and vocations as means by which they can reflect and share the light of the world.
