Rooted & Flourishing in Christ's Love

"They are planted in the house of the Lord; they flourish in the courts of our God. They still bring forth fruit in old age, they are ever full of sap and green, to show that the Lord is upright; he is my rock, and there is no unrighteousness in him."
Psalm 92:13-15

Welcome to Bloom Women's Ministries at Christ Church Anglican! In addition to glorifying Jesus Christ, Bloom's mission is to help women be rooted and to flourish in His love. To that end, Bloom offers many occasions for Christ Church women to grow spiritually together through prayer, study, fellowship, and service.

Calendar

February 27 (Mon) 6:30pm at Pavilion at Pepper Plantation

Please join us for fellowship with one another in the spirit of service. Each woman is asked to bring new, unwrapped items from the wish list to be donated to the Happy Wheels gift cart at MUSC Children's Hospital." The gift cart brings such joy to sick and injured children as they trudge the difficult journey of hospitalization. Deacon Joyce will ask God's blessing over the items and their recipients at the gathering. Please bring an appetizer or beverage to share. If you are unable to attend, you may drop your item off on Sunday mornings or at the new Church Office.

Please see list of items needed on the next page. Anyone can donate to this project by dropping off at the Church Office if you are not able to attend the gathering.

Spiritual Growth
If you are not already in a Life Group or a small Christian group of some kind, Bloom encourages you to join a small Christ Church women’s group (Bloom Group) of 4-8 women for the purpose of Bible or book study, prayer, and general support of one another. A small group setting is the ideal environment for sinking roots deep into the Person of Jesus and into His love within Christian Community. While Bloom Groups are highly encouraged to meet at least twice a month, each group will determine its own schedule and frequency.

Suggested studies:
  • Invitation to the Jesus Life: Experiments in Christlikeness by Jan Johnson
  • Summoned: Answering a Call to the Impossible (a study of Esther) by Megan Brown
  • Jesus and Women by Kristi McLelland
  • Risky Faith: Becoming Brave Enough to Trust the God Who is Bigger Than Your World by Susan Yates

If you would like to participate in a newly formed Bloom Group, you may select that option on the sign up form. Deacon Joyce will prayerfully place women into groups and notify you.

Prayer
A Bloom prayer e-chain Women who wish to participate as Prayer Warriors will be able to opt-in by contacting Katy Hunter at khunter@christch.org. Women who participate do so with the understanding that all prayer topics must remain strictly confidential. That means that there should be no discussion with anyone else, including your spouse, and one should never approach the person being prayed for, even with the best of intentions. Simply appeal to the Throne of Grace.

Bloom Prayer Team This group will consist of women who feel specifically called to meet regularly and pray for God to bless the Bloom ministry at Christ Church.

Service
Transportation Team Provides transportation to and from church or church activities for parishioners who don’t drive.
Meal Brigade Team Provides meals to new mothers (Mama Meals), the sick, the convalescing, or the bereaved. Notifications of need will be emailed with a Sign-up Genius.
Reception Team Provides receptions for bereaved families following funerals, for the Bishop’s annual visit, and for occasional special events. Reception food is provided through a Sign-up Genius sent to the entire parish.
