I'm a "shameless huckster for the life of the Church" because I believe that God calls us to "be a communion of saints in a community of faith." Since 2011 I've been privileged to serve as the Rector of Christ Church Mt. Pleasant trying faithfully to "make disciples" (Mt. 28:19) - our one great purpose, and I hope you will come and join us.

Pastor CJ is a graduate of Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary and most recently served parishes in Birmingham, AL and Atlanta, GA. Prior to seminary he was deeply formed by the Fellows Program at The Falls Church Anglican in Northern Virginia. CJ is thankful to have received a call to serve Christ Church and believes that God has a deep plan for this church in Mount Pleasant. CJ’s life verse is Philippians 3:10-12. He is married to Katherine and they share two daughters.

The Rev. Joyce Harder

Deacon Joyce Harder graduated from Clemson University in 1973 with a major in French and from the University of South Carolina in 1978 with a Master of Arts in French. She taught high school French for 20 years, then founded and operated her own recruiting firm for 17 years before being called into ministry. Following two years of diocesan diaconal training, she was ordained by Bishop Mark Lawrence as Deacon in 2016 with a focus on Kairos Outside, a program that ministers to women whose lives are impacted by the incarceration of loved ones. Joyce and her husband, Howard, have been married for 51 years and have been members of Christ Church Anglican for 37 years, where Joyce has served as Deacon since her ordination. She served for three years as Pastoral Care Associate at Christ Church Anglican, being honored to share the love, comfort, and encouragement of Jesus in a pastoral role with her beloved church family. In the summer of 2022, Joyce was called to the role of assistant to Bishop Edgar at the Diocesan House in Charleston. She continues to fill her roles at Christ Church Anglican as Deacon and Bereavement Ministry Coordinator. Joyce and Howard have a son Walt (Jenny), who has three 20-Somethng children, Hunter, Jordan, and Joe. Their daughter, Cameron (Jeff), has two elementary-aged daughters, Harper and Maryjane.
