What shall we do with the treasure we’ve received in life? We believe that every household is called to give a faithful portion of their money to the Church. Here are two main reasons:
First, For the sake of our own souls. We are made in the image of God, and God is a giver. We see this most clearly in that God “gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life” (John 3:16). Giving is good for us, because by it we become like the One in whose image we were created and who gave Himself for our eternal life. Second, for the sake of the Christian community and cause. Giving to the Church directly supports and advances our Christian values and mission in a way that no other giving does, for uniquely in all the world, the one mission of the Church is to know and share the love of God in Jesus Christ.
