The Men of Christ Church meet on the first Monday of the month for supper, fellowship, spiritual growth and service. The group organizes the annual Oyster Roast and other fundraisers to benefit Christ Church and the community. They also work in conjunction with East Cooper Faith Network's Fix-It Forum. WHO ARE WE? As men of Christ, we come together on a regular basis to serve our Lord, our families, our church, and our community. We are a brotherhood of Christian men seeking to serve Him and grow in our faith as we believe "when two or three are gathered in My Name, there I am among them."
MONTHLY MEETINGS We meet on the first Monday of every month. A meal is prepared by our fellow MOCC brothers ($10 per meal - first is free) and usually a speaker will follow. There is plenty of time to socialize and get to know one another.
PRAYER BREAKFAST On Tuesday mornings we gather at 7amfor breakfast ($5 per meal - first is free) and conversation. The morning begins with the Morning Prayer service found in the ACNA Book of Common Prayer and follows with a study led by clergy or MOCC leadership. The program ends promptly at 8am.
OYSTER ROAST Every year, the MOCC host an Oyster Roast at Oakland Plantation for our friends, our church, and our community. It is a great day of amazing food, drink, music, and more for the family. We host anywhere from 800 to 1100 people during this 3 hour event. MOCC volunteers handle all aspects of planning and executing the event from cooking chili to serving oysters to checking IDs for wristbands. Set up and break down is a great way to get to know your brothers in MOCC. All net proceeds raised benefit our Outreach programs and the life of Christ Church.
BUILD-IT TEAM For several years, the Men of Christ Church have partnered with the East Cooper Faith Network Fix-It Forum to help those who are in need of home repairs or additions that they simply cannot afford. We have built handicap ramps, repaired damaged floors and walls, replaced rotting decks and porches as well as other smaller projects such as minor electrical and plumbing.
