Weddings at Christ Church
Marriage is a lifelong covenant between a man and a woman, binding both to self-giving love and exclusive fidelity. The rite of Holy Matrimony is a worship service of the Church, in which the couple exchanges vows to uphold this covenant. They do this before God and in the presence of witnesses, who pray that God will bless their life together. -ACNA Book of Common Prayer 2019, p. 198
Of couples wishing to be married at Christ Church, at least one person must be a communicant in good standing or the immediate family member of such a member of Christ Church and must comply with the requirements of the Canons of The Anglican Diocese of South Carolina, including the provisions for premarital counseling and the necessary permission of the Bishop if either party has been previously married. All weddings held at Christ Church must be scheduled with the Church Office, 843.884.9090, who will obtain approval from the Rector prior to dates being confirmed. |
