Christian marriage is a solemn and public covenant between a man and a woman in the presence of God. In this Church it is required that one, at least, of the parties be a baptized Christian; that the ceremony be attested by at least two witnesses; and that the marriage conform to the laws of the State and canons of this Church. -BCP. 422
Of couples wishing to be married at Christ Church, at least one person must be a communicant in good standing or the immediate family member of such a member of Christ Church and must comply with the requirements of the Canons of the Anglican Diocese of South Carolina, including the provisions for premarital counseling and the necessary permission of the Bishop if either party has been previously married.
All weddings held at Christ Church must be scheduled with the Church Office, 843.884.9090, who will obtain approval from the Rector prior to dates being confirmed.
