"Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly, teaching and admonishing one another in all wisdom, singing psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, with thankfulness in your hearts to God." -Colossians 3:16
The music ministry of Christ Church Anglican aims to sing God’s word, teach the truth of the gospel, and praise God in a manner fitting to his glory. We do this by careful selection of texts, rehearsal of music, and emphasis on the congregation’s corporate voice in every service. Not only does music enhance our worship, Christ Church Anglican is well-known for its outreach through music. The Christ Church Anglican Choir has recorded two CDs; performed at Piccolo Spoleto, Carnegie Hall, the Biltmore Estate; and local community events. Christ Church Anglican hosts the East Cooper Concert Series, which showcases local and national artists.
Christ Church Anglican Members are invited to join one of our musical teams!
ADULT CHOIR
We rehearse every Wednesday 6:30 to 8pm and sing regularly for the Sunday service, seasonal services, and concerts. Trained musicians as well as those who are eager to learn are welcome from high school age and up. Recordings and extra rehearsals are available for those who desire more practice.
INSTRUMENTALISTS
We rehearse every Tuesday 7 to 8:30pm and play regularly in the Sunday service. Instrumentalists are welcome to participate weekly or occasionally. In addition to leading congregational singing, instrumentalists offer solo and ensemble preludes, meditations, and postludes. Dr. Henkel will provide chord charts or arrange music for your instrument.
CHILDREN'S CHOIR
Children (5K through 5th grade) learn to read music and play chimes, serving the church occasionally on Sunday mornings. Rehearsals take place on Wednesday afternoons from 3:30-4:15pm. Children's Choir registration can be found by clicking here.
